Bahrain Reference Page | Serial Number Prefixes
Bahrain uses serial number prefixes consisting of two letters, with right-hand letter being a 'Denominational Letter' and the left-hand letter being used to increment the prefix (in the numeric sequence). For example, the 1/2-Dinar note of the first issue (No.3) increments its prefix in the following order: بج, بب, با, and بد.
The letters assigned to each denomination are:

The one exception to this sequence is the 100 fils note (No.1) where a single letter prefix is used, utilizing the numeric sequence of the alphabet.
