First issued — 1 Rabi II 1404 H (5 January 1984).
Size — 134 mm x 62 mm.
Signatures — (7) Hamad Saud al-Sayyari (Governor of SAMA) and Muhammad Ali Aba Al-Khail (Minister of Finance).
Watermark — King Fahd.
Security thread — Solid, with ‘SAMA’ micro printed on the thread.
Printer —
Notes — ‘Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency’ is spelt incorrectly. Hamad Saud al-Sayyari signs as ‘Acting Governor’.
Illustration — King Fahd and a depiction of an Amawi Dinar. Written in the centre of the coin in Arabic is: ‘There is no god but Allah’. Around the border is written: ‘Mohammed is God’s prophet sent with the correct religion, to be set above all other religions.’
Text — The title of the ‘Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority’ is at the top left. An ornate block of script at the right states the note is issued during the reign of King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz under Royal Decree No.6 of 1/7/1379. (Missing from this issue is the inscription promising to pay the bearer.)
